X-Box 360
Broken X-Box 360
14/01/08 20:34
I bought my son a X-Box 360 for xmas.
On boxing day it broke, It got the 3 red lights of death.
I phoned Microsoft support who told me to contact Amazon to see if they would accept the return, they said if they didn't, Microsoft would replace it.
I phoned Amazon who said just to send it back and they would send a replacement out.
Amazon dispatched a replacement unit on the 28th december, first class......
On the 2nd January with no sign of the replacement I went to HMV and bought him a new 360 for the same price I paid at Amazon, I also got 2 games included free. (happy)
On the 8th January the replacement from Amazon eventually turned up, Almost 2 weeks later.
If i'd not had the money to go out and buy a replacement my son would have had to wait until it was time for him to go back to school before getting his Xmas present.
I can blame Microsoft for the dodgy X-box, I can blame Amazon for not sending it out via currier, But I think the majority of the blame must go to Royal Mail for taking so long to deliver a first class parcel.
I have learned a valuable lesson though....
When it comes to the kids BIG Xmas presents, DON'T order online.
I'll be buying from high street shops from now on, just in case.
